In a night filled with anticipation and celebration, the Indiana University South Bend (IUSB) community gathered on September 19th for the second annual "Night of the Titans" gala. The annual fundraiser dinner, which is known for recognizing exceptional individuals and their contributions to both the university and the community, took on a special significance this year as Susan Elrod, PhD, Chancellor of Indiana University South Bend, presented the prestigious Chancellor's Medal to David R. Kibbe, JD, President & CEO of Indiana Trust Wealth Management.

The Chancellor's Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the IU South Bend Chancellor, is awarded to individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions in advancing the campus and advocating for its mission while promoting human welfare and community well-being.  The honoree also serves as a role model for students and alumni through their integrity, leadership, and commitment.

David Kibbe, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, holds a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, as well as a Certificate in Executive Management from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.

Active in many civic and business organizations throughout the years, Kibbe currently serves as President of the boards of both Hope Ministries and the IUSB Arts Foundation, and is a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. David has also served as a recent past-Chair of the Chancellor’s Advisory Board at Indiana University South Bend, and as a past-President of the Michiana Estate Planning Council.

Kibbe has also demonstrated exceptional leadership in both the business world and the broader community. As the President & CEO of Indiana Trust Wealth Management, the company has actively engaged in philanthropic support of charitable organizations throughout the South Bend community.

In his acceptance speech, Kibbe expressed his deep gratitude for the honor and reflected on the importance of education in shaping his life and emphasized the significance of giving back to the community that has played such a pivotal role in his journey.

In honoring Kibbe, Chancellor Elrod reaffirmed the university’s commitment to recognizing those who use their success to inspire positive change, and the South Bend community was reminded of the profound impact that one person's dedication to excellence in service can have on the lives of others in both the local and global community.
