In his capacity as Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Indiana Trust Wealth Management, Mr. Welsh assists individuals, corporate entities and non-profits in designing, launching and maintaining wealth management plans that are strategically tailored to their best interests and, in the case of charitable organizations, foundations and endowments, within their governing provisions.
Prior to joining Indiana Trust in 2002 and dating back to 1991, Jim had extensive experience with a regional bank, in the areas of personal account/trust administration, investment management, financial planning, estate planning, and credit administration.
A 1988 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Finance, Jim earned the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor™ (CTFA™) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers in 2003, graduated from the Personal Trust Advanced Administration School at the Cannon Financial Institute in 1998, and graduated from the Cannon Trust School at the Cannon Financial Institute in 1993. In addition, Jim completed the Leadership, South Bend/Mishawaka program, Class of 2004, which is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Saint Joseph County, with the goal of developing servant leaders within the community.
Active in several community-based civic and business organizations, Jim is a member, past president (2009-2010), and former board member of the Michiana Estate Planning Council, as well as a former member of the Board of Directors of Seasons Counseling Center (formerly known as Samaritan Counseling Center). He also maintains membership in the Estate Planning Council of Elkhart County, Elkhart Rotary Club, and Notre Dame Alumni Club of Saint Joseph County. In addition, Jim has many years' experience as a coach and advocate for local youth athletics.
