On Tuesday evening, October 10th, the John Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute recognized South Bend native, Tina M. Patton, CSOP™, CISM®, Vice President and Director of Nonprofit & Foundation Engagement at Indiana Trust Wealth Management, as a distinguished member of its 2023 graduating class. The Institute, which identifies and develops transformational philanthropic leaders across the State of Indiana, offers a continuing education experience for board and executive roles at foundations, corporations, and social impact organizations. 

The third cohort of the Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute comprises 23 individuals from seven different counties in Indiana. Ms. Patton's participation in this program is a testament to her dedication to advancing her expertise in the field of philanthropy. Ms. Patton joins a select group of professionals who have completed the rigorous training offered by the institute. Ms. Patton has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering positive change and making lasting, positive impacts on the nonprofit sector, while her graduation from the Mutz Institute further solidifies her standing as a community leader.

Of the experience, Ms. Patton states, “The Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute provided an invaluable opportunity to learn from well-respected philanthropic experts in our region, enhancing my understanding of philanthropy and empowering all of us to make a more significant impact in our communities.”

As Vice President and Director of Nonprofit & Foundation Engagement at Indiana Trust Wealth Management, Ms. Patton plays a pivotal role in assisting not-for-profit organizations, charitable trusts, and foundations by providing wealth management services that take into account the unique needs of the nonprofit community. Tina is also a member of the Indiana Trust Women's Advisory Group, which focuses on wealth management issues unique to women in the present, ever-changing financial environment – including the rise of women in philanthropy.

Inducted into the South Bend Community Hall of Fame in November of 2019 and an alumna of Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka, Patton currently serves as Chair of the Ivy Tech Community College Regional Board of Trustees (South Bend and Elkhart campuses) and as a board member of the United Religious Community of St. Joseph County.  In a public ceremony at the South Bend Courthouse in April of 2022, Tina was named the YWCA North Central Indiana's 2022 Sojourner Truth Award recipient, which recognizes individuals who live the YWCA mission by working to eliminate racism while promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.
