Solid Start to 2019 a Welcome Respite for Global Stocks

For the first few weeks of 2019, the S&P 500 has pushed noticeably higher and has made a good comeback since hitting its low on Christmas Eve. Concerns swirling in December have abated as investors have been calmed by ongoing China and U.S. trade negotiations. Investor fears also have been somewhat assuaged by comments from the Federal Reserve that indicate the Fed will take a pragmatic approach to increasing interest rates this year.
